Colours - She

The first track from new Edinburgh band “Colours” is an exciting mix of guitar, drums and vocals, with a smattering of bass just for good measure. On first listen this seems like a crazy organ-fest or something that would not sound out of place on “The Lost Boys” soundtrack, each individual instrument having a large license to roam and show exactly what they are capable of on their own merits. This leads to something that can be misconstrued as disorganised, but ultimately this could be the main aim, to showcase the individual talents of these musicians. It is very apparent that Lead Vocalist ……. has a monumental voice and can explore his range at will. This though is a stop start effort, but when given time the melody can get those feet tapping, but before you get time to appreciate this, the song breaks which lets the listener down. The organ effect on the guitar is quite off putting but the sentiment is there, and with no chord structure to speak of it is quite exceptional. It valiant attempt but it seems as though this 4-piece are just finding their feet.
